1. What is a driver's license?
A driver's license, also known as a driver's permit or driving license, is a type of official document or certificate issued by a government or authorized agency to a specific individual, allowing them to operate, circulate, and participate in traffic using motor vehicles such as motorcycles, large-displacement motorcycles, cars, trucks, buses, passenger vehicles, containers, or other types of vehicles on public roads.
The regulations regarding driver's licenses vary from country to country, depending on the specificities of each nation. However, in general, to obtain a driver's license, individuals need to go through several legal procedures such as submitting an application, taking a driving test or rigorous driving examination (depending on the requirements for each type of vehicle), and other procedures. After being issued a driver's license, individuals have the legal right to participate in traffic using vehicles.
Driver's licenses are typically issued based on a certain age requirement. When a person violates traffic laws, traffic police may request the presentation of a driver's license for inspection. Some countries have laws that allow for the confiscation or suspension of driver's licenses (temporary or permanent) as a form of punishment.

3. The duration of motorcycle driving training is regulated by the law
I want to learn and take the motorcycle driving test. Could you please tell me how long is the training period (theory and practice) for this type of license? Is there a general regulation or is it determined by each training center?
Based on Article 12, Clause 1 and Article 16, Clause 1 of Circular 12/2017/TT-BGTVT, the training duration is as follows:
Article 12. Training for A1, A2, A3, A4 licenses
1. Training duration:
a) A1 license: 12 hours (theory: 10 hours, practical driving: 2 hours);
b) A2 license: 32 hours (theory: 20 hours, practical driving: 12 hours);
c) A3, A4 license: 80 hours (theory: 40 hours, practical driving: 40 hours).

Article 16. License classification
1. A1 license is issued to:
a) Drivers to operate two-wheeled motorcycles with a cylinder capacity from 50 cm3 to below 175 cm3;
b) Persons with disabilities to operate three-wheeled motorcycles for persons with disabilities.
Therefore, you will need to complete 10 hours of theory and 2 hours of practical driving training in order to take the motorcycle driving test according to the current legal regulations. This training duration is a general requirement, so there should be no difference between different training centers. This is our advice regarding the duration of motorcycle driving training according to the current legal regulations.
