How old do you have to be to drive a 29-seater bus?
According to Article 60, Section 1 of the 2008 Road Traffic Law, the age requirements for drivers are as follows:
Age and health of the driver
1. The age requirements for drivers are as follows:
a) Individuals aged 16 and above are allowed to drive motorcycles with an engine capacity below 50 cc.
b) Individuals aged 18 and above are allowed to drive two-wheeled motorcycles, three-wheeled motorcycles with an engine capacity of 50 cc or above, and other similar vehicles; trucks, tractors with a load capacity under 3,500 kg; and cars with up to 9 seats.
c) Individuals aged 21 and above are allowed to drive trucks, tractors with a load capacity of 3,500 kg or above; and to drive B2 class trailers.
d) Individuals aged 24 and above are allowed to drive passenger cars with 10 to 30 seats; and to drive C class trailers, semi-trailers (FC).
e) Individuals aged 27 and above are allowed to drive passenger cars with over 30 seats; and to drive D class trailers (FD).
f) The maximum age for drivers of passenger cars with over 30 seats is 50 years for females and 55 years for males.
2. Drivers must have appropriate health conditions for the type and purpose of the vehicle. The Minister of Health, in coordination with the Minister of Transport, regulates the health standards for drivers, regular health check-ups for car drivers, and the requirements for medical facilities to conduct health check-ups for drivers.
According to the regulations, only individuals aged 24 and above are allowed to drive a 29-seater bus.

What type of driver's license is required to drive a 29-seater bus?
According to Article 16, Section 9 of Circular 12/2017/TT-BGTVT, which regulates the classification of road motor vehicle driving licenses, the classifications are as follows:
Classification of driving licenses
1. Class A1 is issued for:
a) Drivers of motorcycles with an engine capacity from 50 cc to less than 175 cc;
b) Disabled individuals driving three-wheeled motorcycles for disabled people.
2. Class A2 is issued for drivers of motorcycles with an engine capacity of 175 cc or above and other vehicles specified for Class A1.
3. Class A3 is issued for drivers of three-wheeled motorcycles, motorcycles specified for Class A1, and similar vehicles.
4. Class A4 is issued for drivers of small trailers with a load capacity up to 1,000 kg.
5. Class B1 automatic is issued for non-professional drivers to drive the following vehicles:
a) Automatic cars with up to 9 seats, including the driver's seat;
b) Trucks, including automatic trucks with a design load capacity under 3,500 kg;
c) Cars for disabled individuals.
6. Class B1 is issued for non-professional drivers to drive the following vehicles:
a) Cars with up to 9 seats, including the driver's seat;
b) Trucks, including trucks designed for a load capacity under 3,500 kg;
c) Tractors towing a semi-trailer with a design load capacity under 3,500 kg.
7. Class B2 is issued for professional drivers to drive the following vehicles:
a) Special-purpose vehicles with a design load capacity under 3,500 kg;
b) Vehicles specified for Class B1.
8. Class C is issued for drivers to drive the following vehicles:
a) Trucks, including special-purpose trucks, trucks with a design load capacity of 3,500 kg or above;
b) Tractors towing a semi-trailer with a design load capacity of 3,500 kg or above;
c) Vehicles specified for Class B1, B2.
9. Class D is issued for drivers to drive the following vehicles:
a) Cars with 10 to 30 seats, including the driver's seat;
b) Vehicles specified for Class B1, B2, and C.
10. Class E is issued for drivers to drive the following vehicles:
a) Cars with over 30 seats;
b) Vehicles specified for Class B1, B2, C, and D.
Therefore, according to these regulations, a driver's license of Class D is required to drive a 29-seater bus.
